I have 7 accounts in my credit report and 2 are in questionable standing and the others are up to date and in good standing. I was just wondering how that affects my credit? |
| Answer: |
 |
The two accounts that are in questionable standing prevent your credit from increasing, so after you put them in good standing your score will grow up. If you will need your credit report to be updated immediately, you'll have to ask the bank to send the information about your payments to the bureaus.

what is the difference in applying for a personal credit card and a business credit card? |
| Answer: |
 |
You get a personal credit card to manage your personal expenditures, for shopping, travelling etc. If this card provides any rewards, they are rebates at some stores, bonus miles for flying or gifts like cinema tickets. If you apply for a business credit card, your personal credit score is taken into account, but you start building you business credit, and you separate you personal and business spending. The rewards provided by such cards are related with business - rebates on office equipment etc.

I received a privacy policy notice in the mail, but I do not have a card. The notice was from Aspen, could you please tell me whether I have a card floating around that I know nothing about? |
| Answer: |
 |
You should immediately call the bank and ask if the card had been sent to you. There can be some problems in the bank or with mail delivery, so clear it out as soon as possible.

I have a Chase VISA card [actually 2 of them]. I see the rewards points listed on the monthly statements. They have an expiration date in 2008. But I can't find any information online or in the statements that tells me how I redeem them. Somehow I intuit I have to claim the rebates at some point of accumulation.
Can you give me information on how I redeem them and where the information is located? Much obliged. |
| Answer: |
 |
Unfortunately, the order of redeeming points is beyond our competence and to find it out in detail you should turn to Chase customer service. They must explain everything to you.

unemployed and need card for financial relief |
| Answer: |
 |
Dear Mr. Barwick,
actually credit cards are never a tool for financial relief :), but if you are eager to get one, you should ask for your credit report and apply for a card accorgingly, in the field "Income" you can enter the sum of money you receive as an unemployed.

First of all you should turn to credit bureaus and get your credit report which contains your credit score and a listing of all your payments and debts. After that you can apply for a credit card for which your credit score is eligible and start paying it off accurately, to keep your score growing. It is impossible to recommend any card as you do not know your credit score.

Is there a way to apply for an instant-approval card and to immediately be able to begin using it (without waiting for an actual card to arrive in the mail)? |
| Answer: |
 |
There are credit cards that enable the cardholders to use onle the number of the card before getting them, but we do not carry such credit cards at our site, unfortunately.

looking for a secured rewards card
|
| Answer: |
 |
Secured credit card and rewards credit card are two different things - you have to have a bank accont to get a secured credit card and it gives no rewards (it is for bad credit), rewards credit card is an unsecured credit card that presents you with rebates, points, gifts etc. (it is for good credit).

does closing a credit card account hurt my credit score |
| Answer: |
 |
Unfortunately, it does. Even if you pay off all the balance on your credit card, it is better if you leave the credit line open. Thus, you are still ranked as a credit card holder and so - a client of your bank. What's more, a good credit client.

Dear Sir, Over I month ago I tried to apply for an Exxon-Mobil credit card. I filled out the information page from an application form that I picked up at the gas station. I filled out the information for our local leader, Sister John Mary Jackson. The application has her name on it. The users of the card will be the Sisters of the Holy Family on 1755 Corbitt Street, Shreveport, LA. Our phone number is 318-213-7028. I left my cell phone number in case anyone called and I was not at home. 318-730-4329. This is not the first time that Sister John Mary Jackson has tried to apply for a credit card. Could you tell me what possibly could the problem be? I cannot get a response by phone because I am asked for an account number which we do not have yet because we cannot get a response from anyone. Please, help me. Sister Rita Darensbourg |

Probably, you were simply denied for those credit cards. The reason for that can be insufficient credit score (gas credit cards usually require good credit). You should apply to the credit bureau and get your credit report, and only after that you'll be able to apply for credit cards according to it. Denials only damage your credit, so you should be careful. And never leave your personal information for public view.
Best of luck,
